it all began with an eager kid and his love of music. at an age when most other kids were hanging out with their friends playing video games, double up would follow around his older brother and his dj crew to clubs watching, listening and learning.

learning meant practicing his technique on the belt-driven sansui turntables his parents owned.

the happiest day being the day his dad bought him his first technics 1200. fast forward to today and this toronto native is one of the most coveted and skilled dj’s known to the industry.

a battle dj at heart, double up spent years honing his skills as a turntablist. having competed in numerous dj battles double up has snagged some notable honours, including dj olympics 1st place champion in the hiphop/turntablist category, dj olympics overall silver medalist and placing 2nd in the coveted technics dmc dj battle (montreal).

he is one of the few that has successfully played his way into the clubs, but his seamless mixing, scratching, and beat juggles tell a crowd that he’s not just another dj.

he’s played in countless venues across the globe, from bangkok to new orleans, new york to chicago, toronto to puerto rico. he’s played for a who’s who list of artists
including trey songz, drake, ne-yo, lil-flip, sean paul, ginuwine and letoya luckett.

he is also the official tour dj for juno-nominated r&b artist deesha.

playing everything from hiphop and r&b, oldschool, rock, house, pop, reggae, top 40, 80’s/retro, mashups, bmore and more, you’ll leave the night hearing double up saying ‘you ain’t gotta go home but you gotta get the hell up outta here’ to get you to leave.
